| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Engineered to work in 1.9GHz frequency, the DECT 6.0 phones won't conflict with common wireless devices such as 2.4GHz routers, wireless keyboards and mouse, microwave ovens and other household items. And because it's digital, you'll enjoy long range and clear sound while deterring eavesdropping.

Great phone for a seperate home office line March 4, 2010 RenaOz (Henderson, NV) This phone suits me perfectly. I have a home office and I use this phone for my separate business line. My favorite feature is the silent mode. I set a time for it to only ring 7AM-5PM. Whenever someone calls another time, it lights up, but doesn't ring and then goes to my voicemail and then shows "Missed Call" on the display.
It has a nice big display that shows the time (when there are no missed calls). The base is pretty small so it doesn't take up too much room on my desk. The sound quality is great! I use a cheap Plantronics headset - (Under-the-ear, Monaural) and the sound is very crisp.
The phone book is nice. I love that I can add just a 4 digit extension number and call co-workers easily that are in my phone system.
The only thing that I would like is for the ringer volume to be able to be set a little quieter and more ringtone choices, but what can you expect for a $35 phone!
Great Phone March 2, 2010 D. Croman (Short Hills, NJ) What an improvement over my old phone! I like that it uses 2 standard (rechargable) AAA batteries, not the expensive and hard-to-find "proprietary" batteries. It works great and has all the basic features I wanted, and none of complicated extra features that I didn't want. Very clear speakerphone, easy to read LCD screen, and has superior range and clarity compared to my old phone.
a decent phone for the price February 24, 2010 Ingrid Thomas (Cincinnati, OH) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm happy with this phone. It replaced an old, static-y cordless phone that was out-dated so we got just one phone for our small home and we did NOT want the answering machine. This phone fit the bill. I'm happy with it. the menu is a little awkward to maneuver sometimes but I don't need to read the instruction manual or anything; it's just awkward sometimes. What make me sitting on the fence about this phone over is that sometimes there is a loud echo/hollow sound to my voice when I'm talking in the phone. Trust me, it's the phone, not me. It doesn't happen all the time. What I am happy about is that there is no longer any static. And I really like the silent-mode feature. you can choose what time the phone will enter/exit silent mode & not ring. My old phone did not have that feature and I'm impressed with the degree of control I have over when my phone rings in my room. We'll be hanging on to this for as long as it lasts or until we get a bigger home, whichever comes first.
Good phone for the price February 11, 2010 Bill Horsman (Boston, MA) I bought this to phone to replace another Panasonic phone which was several years old and the battery no longer held a charge. So far I'm very pleased. Sound quality is very good, battery holds a charge for a long time, LCD screen is nice and bright, numbers light up when pushed. I'm glad to see Panasonic still offering a cordless phone that doesn't come with a built in answering machine. My only criticism would be that, like most other electronics, this is smaller, lighter and feels "cheaper" than the earlier model. The handset is also totally straight, not tapered . So I would not give this phone high marks for ergonomics.
Battery Life Unacceptable, Otherwise A Good Phone February 6, 2010 R. Coutellier (Sacramento Suburb) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought one of these at Fry's last week. It seemed just about perfect for me -- slim, lightweight, has a HEADSET JACK (a requirement for me), and several nice features, including very large display characters, which is nice for my middle-aged eyes. Really, I LOVE that feature!
When I first opened the package and saw that the batteries consisted of two AAA rechargables, my heart sank, as I normally would expect a single, sturdier battery in a cordless phone, but I told myself that battery technology has come a long way and it might be okay, especially since it made the phone lighter. BZZZZZZZZZZZZT The battery life on this phone is ABYSMAL! After charging overnight the first time, I spoke for not quite 3 hours total whereupon the battery bars dwindled to only 1 bar, and it kept beeping at me and informing me that it needed to be charged for yet another 7 hours. I was hoping that was a first-day fluke that would be remedied by longer charging. Alas, two days later I spoke on it for less than ONE HOUR and the bars abruptly shifted from full to only 1 bar and it started beeping at me again. This is TOTALLY unacceptable!
I plan to reluctantly return it next week and start over in my search for a decent, reasonably priced phone with a headset jack. Sigh ...
If you rarely use it and only for a very short time at that, it's a good phone. If you need it to KEEP working after an hour or more, you should look for something else.
