Amazon.com Product Description The AT&T SL82318 DECT 6.0 Corded/Cordless Phone with Three Handsets and Answering System offers unsurpassed range, sound quality, and security, thanks to its use of DECT 6.0 technology, a newly available frequency band that does not suffer from interference from home appliances and wireless networks. The system comes with three handsets; you can transfer calls between handsets, and all three handsets can be off-hook simultaneously. If you need to expand, the base can support up to 12 separate handsets. A built-in digital answering machine system records messages on microchips for reliable performance, instant access to messages, and the ability to selectively save and delete messages. The phone supports caller ID and call waiting. The Speakerphone is built right into the handset, making it more convenient than having to sit by the base as many other Speakerphone systems require. You can select from various ringtones, and the phone system is wall-mountable.

Very Easy & Convenient To Use September 6, 2010 Maxine (MA) There are 200+ detailed reviews that helped me make my decision to buy the AT&T 6.0 Digital answering system. I recommend that you read the other reviews which contain very detailed information.
The price is very reasonable. I needed to have 4 handsets and while there is an AT&T 6.0 Digital 4 handset answering system. I found that it was a bit less expensive to buy the 3 hand set system and then buy an additional AT&T SL80108 DECT 6.0 Digital Cordless Expansion Handset (Titanium and Carbonite) However, prices change and one of the other reviewers said that it was less expensive for him to buy the four handset system so check prices before you make a purchase.
The instructions are easy to read & the features are easy to install.
Best Buy August 25, 2010 Terry These Phones are the best cordless phones I have ever run across. Quality is super, price is very reasonable and it is the easiest phone to learn to use. The fact that you can add multiple handsets has been a life saver. The features of intercom and ability to transfer calls from one handset to another as well as being able to have conference calls makes this purchase one of the best I have made in a long time.
Works Great, With Fewer Bells & Whistles August 17, 2010 Paul Starrs A fine phone, esp. with three handsets. The old Uniden wasn't good -- poor range within the house, and only two phones. So this is a huge improvement with three phones that work from anyplace in the house. The features work well, and the sound is terrific. Why count down a little? Simply because there are a few features this phone lacks that the old one had: For example, with the old phone, you could check messages on the answering machine from any handset: On this one (so far as I can tell), it's only from the "base" unit. That's okay -- means a trip to the kitchen where it's set up -- but that is one feature is doesn't have. On the other hand, it has one that I really like: You program in phone numbers, and they are all exchanged instantly around the system, so every phone has all the numbers. On the old phone, some handsets had some numbers; others other numbers, and you had to go through a complicated system to synchronize all.
Overall? For sound, for quality, for convenience, this is just great. I haven't used an external headset, but will try that at some point, and I believe the self-contained AT&T headset will work with this too (future purchase). I was using my cell phone for almost everything because I so hated the home phone. Now I'm moving back to the home phone for more things.
Design and location of volume button August 2, 2010 Debra Ann McGrath (Waterford, CT, US) I am so disappointed that none of the reviews (that I did happen to read) mentioned that the handset volume control is located EXACTLY where you would hold the phone when talking or picking it up to use. I can't believe that AT&T would have such a poor design team after a century of designing telephones! You will be trying to talk and if you move your arm or hand in anyway, your thumb WILL touch the button, creating a loud beep in your ear. There is no excuse for this haphazard placement of a volume button. There is no speaker function on the base. The handhelds do not display anything when not in use (the time and/or date would be nice). I am going to purchase a new set very soon and it won't be AT&T!
Just what I needed July 31, 2010 Sandra C. Nesbitt (Knoxville, TN USA) This phone system replaces an answering machine I have had for years. I only wish I had purchased this sooner. I have ring tones that even my old ears can detect. I am pleased in every way with this phone.
